God Winks: Comfort in the Sun Shining

God, Yahweh, "man upstairs," "higher power," ....  Call him what you want but I call him God!

He controls the sun, moon and stars.

"And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day. "  Genesis 1:14 (NIV)

Today he let me know He is ever so near and in control by peeking the sun out from the clouds just as I sat and began praying at my writer's desk.   It shined brightly warming my face as I prayed.   I sit here each morning to reflect, journal, and read His Word and there have been several times where the sun shines in the window just as I am praying.

I went about my quiet time, praying, reading a devotion, writing my gratitude list, and journaling.  As I closed my journal from writing my prayers and thoughts, the sun went behind the clouds.  Just as I closed my journal, AMAZING!!!

Call it what you want, coincidence, good timing, no biggie, etc...  I like to call it God's sovereign hand in nature to just "wink" in my direction to let me know He is near, he loves me dearly, and He is in control.

I often call them "God Winks"- a time where God seems so close, like he is sitting right beside you whispering in your ear, or just sitting by you bringing a peace beyond understanding or a whisper to calm an aching heart....He is ever so near!   I love it when He shows up so personally in my day to comfort and give me a sense of peace through His Presence.

My you sense His Presence today as you watch for Him in the Sun, the wind, a kitten playing, a butterfly flying....watch for Him.  Let me know how He shows up for you today.
